10366 Sannois Dr. Apt 2, St. Louis, MO 63146

It was in this apartment the person rented where they started hearing someone's voice without another person present.

The voice was partially accusing, partially asking questions.  Something normally attributed to schizophrenia when it occurs.

But only part of either kind of sentence could be heard.  They all seemed to trail off without substance.

Each time awareness of that fact occurred a voice would chime in to say "you're listening too closely".

What was that supposed to even mean?  How can a person listen too closely?

At the time it wasn't clear that someone was trying to get this person to tap into their unconscious and substitute things to hear as each kind of sentence they were hearing trailed off.

It also wasn't known until much later that 2 piezoelectric transducers had been installed under the carpeting in that room and they were being used to generate the voices heard.

As the partial questions kept being asked this person became aware of another voice.  There were 2 voices talking but the second was much quieter than the first.  Quiet enough that a majority of the time it went completely unnoticed.

It was saying things like "you're feeling panicked and like your hearts about to beat out of your chest".
